MP Board’s secret weapon to improve class 10 results

BHOPAL : The class tenth result of the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary education that will be declared on May 14 is likely to be improved by more than 20 percent.

If it happens it will be due to the board’s newly implemented ‘best of five scheme’.

MBBSE Chairperson SR Mohanti told Free Press, “The result will definitely improve because of the scheme but I have no idea about the numbers.”

Under the new scheme, the board will calculate the marks of the five subjects, in which the student has scored maximum marks, out of the total of six subjects that it appeared for in the board exams.

The scheme will benefit those students the most that flunk in one of the subjects and are considered under the supplementary category.

The Board rolled the new scheme for calculating after taking cognisance of the several cases of suicide by the students after declaration of the board results last year.

The pass percentage of the class tenth regular students was 50 percent last year. Among the ones who didn’t pass 25 per cent or 2,17,000 out of the 8,07,000 regular students got supplementary in one subject.
