Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif effectively admitted in an interview that his nation could have prevented the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai, in which more than 150 people were killed.

In comments published by the Pakistani daily Dawn, Sharif asked, "Militant organisations are active. Call them non-state actors, should we allow them to cross the border and kill 150 people in Mumbai?"

"Explain it to me," he continued "Why can't we complete the trial?"

Dawn published the interview with Sharif today.
