Man’s genitals chopped off

In a bizarre incident, the genitals of a person were allegedly chopped off by a villager at Nileshwar under the Sadar police station limits in Bargarh district over a dispute in the family on Thursday.

The victim Ashok Barik (35) had been initially admitted to the Bargarh District Headquarters Hospital in a critical condition and later shifted to the VIMSAR in Burla as his condition further deteriorated.

According to reports, a feud was prevailing between Ashok and his brother Seba Barik and sister-in-law Shanti Barik. One Sudam Sahu of the village allegedly attacked Ashok with a sharp razor at the behest of his brother and sister-in-law.

Sudam initially tried to attack Ashok on his neck with the razor but in vain. He later chopped off the victim’s genitals and fled the spot. Police have started investigation into the incident.
