Speechless, ABC's sweet family comedy about a teenager with cerebral palsy, has been renewed for a third season, star Minnie Driver announced on Twitter.

"THIS JUST IN: #spechless picked up for a 3rd season HA! Brilliant. Couldn't be happier," tweeted Driver, who plays Maya DiMeo, the family's fiercely protective mother. She was so excited she spelled Speechless wrong, she added. Season 3 will be 22 episodes.

Speechless premiered in 2016 and became a solid performer in the network's family comedy lineup. The Season 2 finale in March drew very similar numbers to the Season 1 (4.52 million viewers for Season 2 vs. 4.6 million for Season 1). It stars Driver, John Ross Bowie, Micah Fowler, Cedric Yarbrough and Mason Cook.

It joins Roseanne, Modern Family and The Goldbergs as comedies ABC has already renewed. ABC has also picked up an as-yet-untitled '90s-set Goldbergs spin-off.

Speechless is available to stream on Hulu.
