Nora Crews Hill Williamson, 87, of Morris Church Road, entered into the arms of Jesus, on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at her home surrounded by her adoring family. She was the loving wife of the late Howard M. Williamson for 39 years. Born in Halifax County on April 19, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Marie Douglas and Noel L. Crews. Nora was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church where she was a member of the WMU, taught Sunday school for the preschool children for many years, worked with the GA's, and served on the kitchen committee. She will be well remembered by the children of her extended community family as "Mama Mae". She loved caring for her family and spending every waking minute doing something for them. She will be fondly remembered for the many meals, which she prepared with love, for her family, friends, visiting preachers, strangers and anyone else that wanted to dine at her table. She loved to travel with her family and always looked forward to her pajama parties held with her daughters. Her laughter was contagious and she lived by a strict rule of never saying NO to dessert. Every day was special in itself and worthy of celebration. Her life was lived with enthusiasm and great love for others. She is survived by four daughters, Marie H. Scott and husband, William "Pee Wee", Brenda H. Joy and husband, Barney, Nora H. "Lynn" Trent and husband, Jimmie, all of Brookneal, and Allison W. Almond and husband, Mack, of Lynchburg; one daughter-in-law, Micki Hill of Richardson, Tex.; two sisters-in-law, Jessie Baldwin and Rhoda Marstin; nine grandchildren, Dana Fitch, Derek Scott, Shannon Connery, Shawn Hill, Nicole McFaden, Michael Joy, Brian Trent, Jessica Eubank, and Danielle English; 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews including a devoted niece and her family, Leigh C. Pritt, Billy and Justin. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edgar J. Hill; one brother, Andrew Lee Crews; and two sisters, Ruby Crews and Catherine C. Arthur. Her heart became broken at the loss of her son, Edward Thomas Hill. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Union Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Mack Almond and the Rev. Reggie Warren officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Union Hill Baptist Church and other times at her home.
