Wyden opens inquiry into Novartis contract

Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), ranking member on the Senate Finance Committee, requested details and documentation from both Novartis AG (NYSE:NVS; SIX:NOVN) and President Donald Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen about the business arrangement between the company and Cohen's Essential Consultants LLC. A Novartis spokesperson told BioCentury the company had anticipated the letter and intends to cooperate.

Wyden requested all contracts between the entities, payment details, employees involved and communications records, as well as a description of how the relationship began. He also requested financial details on the parties from the Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network.
