Youth stabbed to death in city

In yet another example of the deteriorating law and order situation in the city suburbs, a youth was stabbed to death in broad daylight in front of a liquor shop at Palasuni under the Mancheswar police station on Thursday.  .

Reports said the youth was attacked by an unidentified man with a sharp weapon; and after committing the crime, the assailant fled from the spot.

On getting information, city DCP Anup Sahu and other police officials rushed to the spot and began probe into the incident. The police suspected the case to be fallout of past enmity.

Locals alleged that the aforesaid liquor outlet has become a haven for notorious criminals; and despite their repeated complaints, police have not initiated any action.
