The collective sobbing you heard online today was the outcry of disappointment by fans angry over the cancellation of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. And that sound is music to Hulu's ears!

As is tradition when a fan-favorite series gets canceled, talk turns to how the show can live on, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine might find itself on the streaming network, Deadline reports. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is already a solid performer for Hulu, and Hulu has already rescued The Mindy Project as precedent. What's more, the business of it all makes sense for Hulu as well; the studio behind the comedy -- Universal TV, part of the Comcast/NBC family -- is also a corporate partner of Hulu.

But that's not the only suitor apparently. TBS may be sniffing around to discuss bringing Brooklyn Nine-Nine to its schedule. The cable network is currently airing Brooklyn Nine-Nine reruns, and boss Kevin Reilly was at Fox when Brooklyn Nine-Nine was developed. Reilly has been pushing comedy hard at TBS, and B99 fits right in its mold.

Of course this is all just talk and the body isn't even cold yet, but for hopeful fans looking to see more from the show, it's the first step to getting it back on air.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine has two more episodes left in its (possible) final season. You can catch them Sundays at 8:30/7:30c on Fox.
