Rs 20 L ex-gratia to thermal plant victims

Haryana Government has announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 20 lakh to the family members of each deceased and Rs 10 lakh to the injured in the Rajiv Gandhi Thermal Power Plant tragedy.

In addition, a job in HPGCL would be given to one member from the family of those deceased or injured in the accident, said Haryana Transport Minister, Krishan Lal Panwar.

He said that a special investigation team  has been formed comprising the DSP headquarters, one inspector and one sub inspector to thoroughly investigate the cause and the officers responsible for this tragedy. 

He further assured to chargesheet and  transfer the SE, X-En and the SDO of the Power Plant.  He also assured that the expense on the treatment of those injured would be borne  by the State Government.

After the assurance from the Transport Minister, the families performed the last rites of those deceased in the accident. Two labourers were killed and four were severely injured in a blast (RGTPP) at Khedar in Hisar on Tuesday.
