RAJKOT: Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) destroyed 445 kg mangoes ripened by using carbide and chemical substances on Friday. The
RMC teams also seized 53 kg carbide besides destroyed 242 kg chikoos kept in unhygienic condition and unfit for human consumption.
Health department officers raided fruits shops in the stretch from
Kotharia Road to
Mavdi Road and found mangoes ripened using carbide. RMC officials issued notices to the traders and the action will be taken after their replies. RMC also cancelled the license of repeat offenders.
