Hot, dry weather in Punjab, Haryana; Hisar sizzles at 44.4

Hot conditions prevailed in most parts of and today, with registering a high of 44.4 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature in Haryana's was three notches more than normal limits. Narnaul too sizzled at a high of 44 deg C.

Bhiwani and Karnal also experienced a hot day, recording above normal maximum temperatures of 42 degrees Celsius and 40.5 degrees Celsius, a report said here.

Ambala's maximum settled at 40.7 deg C, three degrees above normal limits.

Chandigarh, the common capital of and Punjab, braved a hot day at 40.4 degrees Celsius.

In Punjab, recorded an above normal maximum temperature of 41.5 deg and recorded respective highs at 41.6 deg C and 40.3 deg C.
