Ujjain: Contaminated water supply continues across city


Ujjain: Muddy and stinky water was supplied in the many areas of old city continuously on the third consecutive day by the Public health engineering (PHE) department of the civic body on Thursday.

According to sources, the PHE department has been supplying stinking and muddy waters of the Kshipra and Narmada rivers in the city despite department claims of proper filtration and treatment of the water before supply across the city. According to executive engineer Dharmendra Verma, the quantum of chemicals used for filtration has been doubled and quantum of alum has also been increased.

Citizens received very dirty water for 30 minutes in the beginning of the supply in Budhwariya, Patel Nagar, Juna Somwariya, Khajurwali Masjid, Abdalpura, Nayapura and Nijatpura area of the city. Residents of Anand Nagar and Basant Vihar also received the same water.
