CIC Vinson M. Paul administers oath to new Commissioners

K.V. Sudhakaran, K.L. Vivekanandan, P.R. Sreelatha and S. Somanathan Pillai were sworn in as State Information Commissioners here on Friday.

The swearing-in followed approval of their names by Governor P. Sathasivam on Thursday.

Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) Vinson M. Paul administered the oath to the new Commissioners.

Mr. Sudhakaran, press secretary to former Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan, has been a journalist with Deshabhimani, the CPI(M) organ, for over a quarter century.

Winner of several journalism awards, Mr. Sudhakaran is also a journalism educator.

Mr. Anandan, head of the Department of Geology at the SN College, Chempazhanthy, is former general secretary of the All Kerala Private College Teachers’ Association (AKPCTA) for three years and is currently the national secretary of the All India Federation of University Teachers’ Organisations (AIFUCTO).

Ms. Sreelatha is additional secretary in the General Administration Department.

Mr. Somanathan Pillai had earlier served as managing director of several State public sector undertakings such as the Travancore Titanium Products (TTP) Limited for over two decades.
