2019 Toyota CH-R Gains $22k LE Base Model

The 2019 Toyota CH-R has gotten a bit less expensive for the 2019 model year, with the Japanese automaker adding a new $22,000 LE base model to the lineup.

According to Cars Direct, the 2019 CH-R LE will do away with the 18-inch alloy wheels of the XLE model in favor of a 17-inch steel set, and the contrasting white or black roof color option won’t available on it. It cannot be equipped with blind-spot monitoring or rear-cross traffic alert, either. Toyota Safety Sense P is standard on all CH-R trim levels, however, which includes automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise and automatic high-beams, among more. The sticker price on the CH-R LE is $21,990, which includes the $1,045 destination charge.

The introduction of the $22k CH-R LE has bumped the other trim levels up the ladder a bit. The CH-R XLE will now cost $24,025, up $530 from before, while the range-topping Limited model will cost $27,045. As Cars Direct correctly points out, there will now be a price difference of $5,055 between the cheapest CH-R trim level and most-expensive one.

It’s not yet clear when the 2019 Toyota CH-R, along with the new LE base model, will begin arriving at Toyota dealers, but we should see it come about in Q3 or Q4 of this year.
