Irrigation Assistant Engineer Ghanashyam Seth of Attabira in Bragarh district was arrested by the Vigilance police for possessing assets disproportionate to his legal sources of income on Wednesday.

This was preceded by raids conducted at multiple locations of Seth and discovery of his assets of Rs 1, 10, 19, 377 by the Vigilance. His residential double storied building located at Baragarh town, house at native village Sikirdi, office room and houses of relatives at Tarava and Barpali were simultaneously searched. It was found that Seth was in possession of disproportionate assets which are 180% of his total income.

Rasananda Majhi was arrested by Vigilance in disproportionate assets case on the same day.

His residential double storied building located at Baragarh, triple storied building located at Bhatli Chowk, Bargarh, house at Nileswar village, Bargarh, house of relative at Nileswar and office chamber at

Narla were simultaneously searched. Majhi was found to be in possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 90, 75,106 which is 140 per cent of his total income.
