Special emphasis was laid on strengthening the educational system in Mayurbhanj district at a meeting of the district administration with mediapersaons and educational officers here on Wednesday in order to streamline and strengthen Government schools.

District Collector Vineet Bharadwaj, in his keynote address, spoke of the need of promoting the schools with the help of the alumni as well as other generous people. For the development of a school, the desirous people, whether alumni or not, can freely donate either in kind or in cash, he said. One is welcome if he wants to develop a laboratory, a gymnasium, a projector, an auditorium, a drinking water project or the like, he added.

DPC Vivekananda Sahu said that meetings have already been held at different levels to develop all the 5,045 Government schools (primary and high schools) of the district. These efforts would soon yield positive results, he hoped.
