3 held for vandalizing vehicles, assaulting man

CHANDIGARH: The Maloya police have arrested three miscreants for vandalizing vehicles and injuring a person at Daddu Majra on Tuesday night. Police on Wednesday produced the accused in a local court that sent them to judicial custody.
Baldev Kumar, station house officer (SHO) of Maloya police station, said that the accused had been identified as Kishan alias Golu,, Sumit alias Dangar and Subham, all residents of Daddu Majra.

In his complaint to the police, Raj Kumar said that he was strolling near his house in Daddu Majra when the accused attacked him with sticks and iron rod under the influence of liquor. Later, they also damaged window panes of a car and several auto rickshaws parked in the area. Residents of the area gathered on the spot and informed the police about the vandalism. Cops reached the spot and rushed Raj Kumar to the GMSH-16 for treatment.

On his statement, police registered a case under section 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of Rs 50) , 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC.

After registering a case against the accuse, the Maloya police launched a special search operation in the area. Later, all three accused were nabbed. They told the cops that they had attacked Raj Kumar due to old enmity.

In earlier incidents, unidentified miscreants had on May 5 set ablaze two vehicles parked outside a houses in Manimajra on May 5 while on February 22, seven vehicles, including five auto rickshaws, were set on fire in Sector 52.
