GUWAHATI: At least six people were killed and several others injured in lightning strikes and thunderstorm in
Assam in the last 24 hours.
A spokesperson of Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) on Wednesday said two people died in
Rangia and Nagarbera in
Kamrup district, one each in
Barpeta and
Kokrajhar districts and two in Karbi Anglong. Power supply was disrupted throughout the day in several lower Assam districts as electric poles were damaged and trees got uprooted in a storm on Wednesday morning.
