Police in Kingston, Ont., say a wanted man is facing additional charges after being found hiding in the trunk of a car.

Officers pulled the car over on Sunday night after the driver allegedly disregarded a no left turn sign, Kingston Police said in a news release.

Investigators say the officers recognized the driver and passenger as associates of the wanted man.

When officers checked the trunk, they found the accused, police said. He allegedly attempted to flee and then resisted arrest.

When the man's backpack was searched, police allege officers seized a large amount of cash, a flip knife, brass knuckles, ammunition, an inoperable pistol, a stun gun disguised as a flashlight, a wig, and suspected heroin and crack cocaine.

The man, who had been wanted on a breach of recognizance charge, now faces numerous drug and weapons counts, resisting arrest, and additional breach charges.
