A WA Police officer at the centre of an internal investigation into an incident in Thornlie has been stood down.
The action was taken Thursday afternoon following the provision to police of additional footage of the incident.
The actions of police in relation to the arrest are being investigated by the Internal Affairs Unit.
The officer, a senior sergeant, was stood down from all operational duty pending the outcome of the investigation by the Internal Affairs Unit.
Concerning new footage surfaced on Thursday of an unmarked police vehicle knocking down a teenage boy in Perth's southern suburbs.
The incident - which is currently the subject of an internal investigation - happened on Sunday in Thornlie.
An 18-year-old man had been sought for questioning by police and, when apprehended, was injured in a scuffle with an officer.
The young man fled, but was arrested shortly after when he was knocked down by a police vehicle.
Video footage captured by a passerby and released to the media showed the incident.
But fresh footage captured the action unfolding from a different angle.
The teenager was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital shortly after being knocked down.
Police Minister Michelle Roberts said a full report on the incident would be prepared.
