"The battle of Haldi Gahtee was the clash of the two kings" Akhilesh

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, questioned the BJP version of history relating to Maharana Pratap saying `` the battle of Haldi Gahtee was not a Hindu –Muslim battle but clash of the two kings for the expansion of the territory of their   respective kingdoms’’. Akhilesh Yadav also said that  ``the life and time of Maharana Pratap is a  sources of great inspiration for the people of India as despite heavy odds he never surrendered before the Mughal  kingdom  and continued his struggle’’.

"The commander of the Mughal army was a Rajput Maan Singh while  Hakim Khan commanded the army of Maharana Pratap in the battle of Haldi ghati’’,  said Akhilesh Yadav  while addressing  the meeting orfganised at the state office of the party to celebrate the birth anniversary of Maharana Pratap.

Akhilesh Yadav said `` the Samajwadi party has always respected the Kshtriya Samaj and will continue to do so’’.  Seeking the support of the Rajput community Akhilesh Yadav said `` Aap meri pagree bachaao, mein aapkee pagree bachayenge’ (You protect my turban and I will protect your turban) said the SP president.  The Rajput  leaders of the Samawjadi party assured their president that the  Kshtriya community will leave no stone unturned to repay the debt it owes to the Samajwadi party in 2019 Lok Sabha  and 2022 state assembly elections.

"The BJP is deliberately making a sectarian interpretation of the medieval history of India for its narrow political ends.  The sole agenda of the BJP is divisive politics and the common people should be cautioned about their nefarious designs’’, said SP president adding `` I know the celebration on birth anniversary of Maharana Pratap will cause consternation in the BJP camp but we will counter the resistance from the BJP and will continue to adore the great warrior of India."

"The BJP is adept in the art of making the divisive issues as the main agenda of the public discourse. The BJP is so desperate to divide the society on the lines of caste and religion that they do not considers us as Hindu. During the Gujarat assembly elections Allauddin Khiljee was in their agenda and for the Karnataka assembly people they have raised the issues of Jinnah and Tipu sultan," said the SP president.

Questioning the commitment of the BJP for maharana Pratap, SP president said ``BJP does only lip service while my government had declared public holiday on his birth anniversary which was discontinued by the present BJP government’’. He added `` as soon as we are voted back to power we will restore the public holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharana Pratap."
