Portsmouth, RI — Common Fence Music will present singer-songwriter Heather Maloney in an EP-release event on Saturday, May 19.

Touring in celebration of her 2018 EP release, "Just Enough Sun," Massachusetts singer-songwriter Maloney presents a raw and deeply vulnerable collection of original songs that follow her literate and often heartbreaking exploration of family history, childhood dreams and the adulthood realities that butt-up against them. Performing as a duo, Heather will be joined on-stage by guitarist and vocalist Ryan Hommel (The Sweetback Sisters), who also co-produced and played on the EP. Hommel and Maloney’s dynamic live performances display subtle instrumentation that lifts the songs to new heights without ever shifting the focus too far from Maloney’s stunningly visceral voice and thought-provoking lyrics. "Just Enough Sun" follows Maloney’s successful 2015 release, "Making Me Break," which features an all-star backing band including members of Band of Horses, The Wall Flowers, My Morning Jacket and Darlingside. Equally introspective and relatable, Maloney has solidified her place as a rising star in the world of folk music.

Maloney's EP-release concert will held Saturday, May 19, at 8 p.m, at Common Fence Point Hall, 933 Anthony Road, Portsmouth. Tickets to the show are $20 in advance, $22 at the door. Tickets and information may be obtained at CommonFenceMusic.org, or at BrownPaperTickets.org by searching Common Fence Music. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door.
