Gur pedi prices up in Delhi, Khrupa in Muzaffarnagar

Prices of gur firmed up by Rs 50 per at the wholesale market here today largely due to shortage of stocks.

Muzaffarnagar market also witnessed a rise of Rs 50 per in gur Khurpa prices on paucity of stocks. Elsewhere, other gur commodities remained steady in the absence of any worthwhile activity.

Marketmen said tight supplies from manufacturing areas amid speculative buying pushed up gur prices in and Khurpa prices in Muzaffarnagar.

Similarly, in Muzaffarnagar, gur Khurpa prices went up by Rs 50 to finish at Rs 2,500-2,550 per quintal.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,000-3,100, pedi Rs 3,050-3,150, dhayya Rs 3,200-3,300 and shakkar Rs 3,300-3,400.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,100-2,150, chakku Rs 2,450-2,800, khurpa Rs 2,500-2,550 and Ladoo Rs 2,600- 2,700.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,625-2,750 and dhayya Rs 2,800-2850.
