Julianne Moore opens up about 'traumatic' events in H'wood at Cannes

Academy-award winning Moore called the events surrounding the case and others in the industry "traumatic", but also said that the results have been positive.

Speaking at the Cannes Festival on Wednesday, the 'Still Alice' star said, "We were fortunate enough or unfortunate enough, depending on how you view it to have had several really traumatic events in our industry, events people were not disclosing and a lot of people were not aware of," reported

"Because of our unity and solidarity, we feel the ability to manifest change. It's not just It's really, really important to stress that it's about equity and safety all over the world," she added.

Moore also spoke about the gender swap in her upcoming project 'After the Wedding' which is an adaptation of the Danish Oscar-nominated being penned down by her husband

Moore was also joined on stage by Thierry Fremaux, who waved off criticism about the festival having awarded to only one woman, for 1993's The Piano. He cleared that the festival has changed the gender composition of the selection committee after a conversation with last year.
