Chandigarh(DP Correspondent): Shyam Lal Sharma, Chief Organizer, General Categories Welfare Federation, Punjab and Satnam Singh Dhami, Press Secretary while addressing press conference in press club Chandigarh stated that Punjab Government has not issued any instructions for the implementation of judgment dated 20th February, 2018 vide which reservation in promotion has been scrapped by Punjab and Haryana High Court. He said that whenever any judgment is received in favor of reserve category then it is implemented immediately where as in case of General Category implementation is delayed unnecessarily.Sharma told that the Government while filing Affidavit in the Court admitted that data collected by from 47 departments was incomplete and faulty to some extent and they have no data. The data which was collected by the Government shows that the representation of Scheduled Casts is in excess than the prescribed quota.In Punjab Civil Secretariate 35 posts of superintendent, 3 posts of Special Secretary to Minister, 3 posts of Private Secretary and 8 posts of Personal Assistant are lying vacant. In the District Sangrur more than 100 posts of Head Teachers are lying vacant whereas out of 200 posts filed 58 Head Teachers are working from SC category, where as quota was only of 40 posts. Promotions are not being made as per seniority even now when the reservation in promotion has been scrapped and both communities are suffering for want of promotion.
