Mahanati: Long-cherished dream fulfilled, says Ashwini Dutt

Film producer Ashwini Dutt on Wednesday said to depict the life of veteran actress Savithri on the silver screen was a long-cherished dream for him.

Mr. Dutt, along with the Savithri’s daughter Chamundeswari and MLC Dokka Manikya Varaprasad, saw parts of the film Mahanati in the Trendset mall and expressed satisfaction over the public response. “This could not have been possible without the cooperation of the great legend’s family members,” he said pointing to Ms. Chamundeswari.

Mr. Dutt told reporters that the film was well received by overseas audience too. He said in his 44-year-long film career, this one film had given him immense satisfaction. He said he was happy the hard work of 18 months had yielded good result. Heaping praises on Keerthy Suresh who played Savithri’s role for a wonderful job, he also appreciated Samantha and Prakash Raj for their performance.

Mr. Dutt said veterans like NTR and ANR had always appreciated the discipline with which the actor had conducted herself on the sets.

Ms. Chamundeswari said every Telugu person, especially Savithri’s fans, would feel proud of the film. She said Keerthy Suresh and Dulquar in Savithri’s father’s role had done an extremely good job.

MLC Manikya Varaprasad said Savithri had scores of fans and he was one among them. He said the film had left an impact that would stay in the people’s minds for a very long time.
