Last season, the Atlantic Lady Sharks dominated the area, but that wasn't the case this season. Although the Sharks' Lindsey Zieglar did repeat as Player of the Year, there was plenty of parity on the courts this season.

Here's how everything played out:

FIRST TEAM

Emily Alieva, Spruce Creek

Creek's No. 2, Alieva finished undefeated in the area and 18-3 overall.

Liz Allen, DeLand

Allen, DeLand's No. 1, went 13-6 overall as a sophomore, and 10-4 in duals.

Carlie Davis, Father Lopez

Davis went 9-3 in both No. 1 singles and doubles for the Green Wave and was a district finalist.

Mallory Kelly, Spruce Creek

Creek's No. 1, Kelly finished 14-6 this season with her only area losses coming to Atlantic and DeLand.

Lindsey Zieglar, Atlantic

Now a two-time News-Journal Player of the Year, Zieglar was a Five Star No. 1 singles and doubles champion and finished 9-2 with an undefeated record in the area.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Bailey Palmer, Spruce Creek

The second-year Creek coach helped guide the Hawks to their first Five Star title since 2015, and 19th overall. Palmer, a Creek alum, took over the girls team full-time this season.

SECOND TEAM

Klara Acierno, FPC: The FPC No. 3 finished 9-1 and was a conference champion.

Sophie Chinelli, Father Lopez: Chinelli finished 10-2, won the district at the No. 4 singles, and finished 8-3 at No. 2 doubles.

Davina Sisouphanouvong, University: The leader of a rebuilding Titans team, Sisouphanouvong went 10-6 at the No. 1 singles, and lost to just three area players.

Allison Teixeira, DeLand: The Bulldogs' No. 2 finished 14-5 as a sophomore.

Nina Walls, FPC: Walls was a conference champion at No. 4 and finished 9-2.
