Two earth-movers deployed

Municipal Commissioner M. Hari Narayanan on Wednesday visited Lawson’s Bay and Pedajalaripeta and instructed officials to clear the beaches there of garbage on a war-footing. At both the places, he saw for himself how garbage was accumulating. Two earth-moving machines were pressed into service at two beaches to clear the garbage.

As a part of his morning rounds, he visited Peda Waltair, Sivajipalem, Doctors’ Colony and Prasantinagar too.

The Commissioner asked officials to impose fine on Gayatri Estates, MGR Hospital and Blue Home Service Apartments for not maintaining sanitation.

The Ramarajunagar park should be cleared of garbage. The drain opposite Ramalakshmi apartments should be de-silted to prevent overflow onto the road. Zone Commissioner Nallanaiah accompanied the Commissioner.

School modernisation

Mr. Hari Narayanan also inspected the work on provision of basic amenities and modernisation at Peda Waltair, Isukathota, Venkojipalem, Sitampeta and Sivajipalem municipal school. A total of 16 schools in Zone II will be provided amenities and infrastructure as per the recommendations of Administrative Staff College of India at a cost of ₹ 2 crore.
