Zarif, Salehi to Brief Lawmakers

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Alkbar Salehi will go to the Parliament to brief lawmakers on the future of the landmark nuclear deal with the world powers after the US departure.
The spokesman for the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Hossein Naghavi Hosseini said Wednesday that Zarif and Salehi will brief the chamber on May 13 to discuss the nuclear deal as well as the future steps that can be taken by the lawmakers, Mehr News Agency reported.
Zarif tweeted on Tuesday that he will spearhead a diplomatic initiative  “to see whether the remaining JCPOA participants can ensure its full benefits for Iran.”
JCPOA is the official name of the nuclear deal.
