Jason Martin, an Albany police detective, is battling cancer.
ALBANY - A funeral Mass was being held Thursday morning for Jason Martin, the city police detective who died of cancer last week.
Martin's funeral filled St. Mary's Church at 10 Lodge St.
Martin died on Friday. He is the second Albany police officer to died of cancer this year. Detective Kevin Meehan died on Feb. 21.
Martin leaves behind his wife, Ramona, and two children. He grew up in Albany and remained in the city throughout his life.
