Mumbai: Foreign national jumps to death from 11th floor in Nariman Point


Mumbai: A 35-year-old foreign national allegedly jumped from the 11th floor of a the Maker Chambers V at Nariman Point in South Bombay and died on the spot on Wednesday.

Confirming the incident, the zonal Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) has said, “The victim is male but his identity could not be established.” The Cuffe Parade police station has registered Accidental Death Report (ADR) and further investigations are underway. “We received a call in the morning that a foreign national, in his mid 30s, jumped off an 11th floor of the Maker Chambers. One team was immediately despatched to the spot and found the foreign national lying in the pool of blood,” said an officer from Cuffe Parade police station.

The senior inspector Rashmi Jadhav said, “The man was desperately searching for the address of Consulate General of Romania in Mumbai. He apparently searched for the address on Google and reached Maker Chambers V at Nariman Point but the address has been changed. He spoke to few people and got frustrated and jumped from the 11th floor. He did not carry any identity card with him.”
The police contacted Consulate General of Romania whose officials have asked Mumbai police to send the details of the deceased via email to check if his identity could be established.
