Kumram Bheem boy tops Gurukul CET

M. Sashank of Kumram Bheem belonging to the OC community topped the entrance exam for TG Gurukul CET by securing 95 marks out of 100. U. Hymavathi of Wanaparthi district and hailing from BC community secured 94 marks while L. Vyshali of Warangal Rural from SC community and K. Krishna Prasad from Nalgonda belonging to ST community each got 92.

TG Gurukul CET Convenor R.S. Praveen Kumar released the results at Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) headquarters here on Tuesday.

A total of 1,16,785 candidates, including 55,205 girls, appeared for the exam with the break-up as follows: 38, 454 (SC), 24,612 (ST), 59, 412 (BC) and 4,104 (OC).

About 39,700 students (17,200 boys and 22,500 girls) will be admitted into fifth class for the academic year 2018-19 in 497 welfare residential schools across Telangana. Candidates are selected based on the marks secured in the exam reservation pattern and preference is given at the time of submitting the online application.

Selected candidates will be informed about the name of the institution in which he/she is allotted a seat along with the details of the certificates to be furnished at the time of joining. If the student is not selected, he/she will get the result as “Not Selected in the First List,” the convenor explained.

A call letter will be sent to the selected students by the principal concerned by May 10 and they should join in the allotted institution May 11 onwards. The last date is May 20. A second selection list will be generated against the overall available vacancies and the list will be declared by May 30.
