COLOMBO (News 1^st) – Speaker Karu Jayasuriya informed parliament on Wednesday (May 9th) that the national audit bill is in accordance with the constitution.

The Speaker earlier today delivering the supreme court’s determination on the National Audit bill stated that it is not in accordance with the constitution.

However, shortly afterwards the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya issued a clarification on his statement and noted that the Supreme court has determined that the Audit bill is in line with the constitution.
