NEW PHILADELPHIA New Philadelphia City Schools won the renewal of a 6.5-mill operating levy in Tuesday's primary election.
New Philadelphia schools' five-year property tax renewal passed with a vote of 1,721 to 1,492, or 54 percent to 46 percent. Last approved in 2014, the renewal will take effect in 2019 and be due for payment first in 2020. The emergency levy generates $3 million a year.
