• Clippers: The Triple-A Clippers (15-16) dropped their third straight, 3-0, to Toledo. The Mudhens held Columbus to two hits, both of which were doubles by second baseman Eric Stamets.

• RubberDucks: Richmond shortstop Ryan Howard’s sacrifice fly in the third inning accounted for the scoring in the Flying Squirrels’ 1-0 victory over visiting Double-A Akron (20-12). The RubberDucks were 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left nine on base. Adam Plutko (3-3) gave up two runs on seven hits in 7 1/3 innings.

• Hillcats: Right fielder Trenton Brooks was one of five advanced Single-A Lynchburg batters with multiple hits in the Hillcats’ 4-3 victory Frederick. Brooks was 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Shortstop Luke Wakamatsu also had three hits, and Conner Capel, Jodd Carter and Anthony Miller had two each for Lynchburg (15-17).

• Captains: Juan Hillman fell to 0-5 as Single-A Lake County (14-17) fell to host Kane County, 6-4. Hillman yielded five runs on 10 hits in five innings. Third baseman Nolan Jones was 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI.
