The Simpsons is the longest running animated show in US history but can something go for that long and maintain its quality? The answer, in the case of The Simpsons at least, is no.
The show has been on a steady decline since the end of the 'golden age' stretching from season one through to episode 11 of season 10 - at least according to reviewers on IMDb.
In the immortal words of Krusty the Clown: "One day, you're the most important guy that ever lived. The next day, you're just some schmoe working in a box factory."
