Actor Justin Theroux has filed for a restraining order against his neighbour.
Theroux has got embroiled in a bitter feud with Norman Resnicow, who lives in the same New York apartment block, for a number of years, reports TMZ.
The 46-year-old actor on Tuesday accused Resnicow of intimidating other residents against testifying in their long-running property battle.
In court documents, Theroux said the neighbour was flying into angry and violent tirades.
He claimed one resident said Resnicow's behaviour has "reached a very dangerous level for everyone in the building."
Theroux has asked the court to stop Resnicow from trying to intimidate other neighbours, and to stop sending abusive emails as well.
