RANCHI: Jobs in the rank and file of Jharkhand government should only be registered for the residents of the state, JVM-P chief Babulal Marandi demanded on Wednesday.

The former chief minister also demanded that the Raghubar Das government must make provisions to reserve the state government jobs for the people of Jharkhand for 30 years.

Marandi demanded complete reservation a day after the state cabinet approved the recruitment policy for grade-III and grade-IV jobs in the state government for 11 non-scheduled districts of the state.

Speaking to reporters at JVM-P headquarters here, Marandi questioned the Das government’s decision to draft two separate recruitment policies for scheduled and non-scheduled districts and called for a common policy applicable to the whole of Jharkhand. “The policies will not be able to stop the aspirants outside Jharkhand from getting jobs here,” he said.

Notably, Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs had written to the government pointing out the need to broaden the parameters of employment criteria in grade-III and grade-IV jobs. A committee was formed under state land reforms and revenue minister Bauri. The committee drafted a new policy which was approved by the cabinet on Tuesday and send it to the state chief electoral officer for clearance before being notified.
