THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan has condemned the murders which took place in Mahe on and Kannur. “I have asked the director general of police to take necessary action to ensure peace in the region. The killings are condemnable and action will be taken against the perpetrators,” said the chief minister.
Vijayan said though the first killing had occurred in Mahe, the state police chief has been asked to provide all help to the Puducherry police in the investigation.

“There is a need for ensuring that such killings never occur,’’ he said.

CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, who was silent on the killing of the RSS worker, condemned the killing of the CPM local committee member. He said the RSS was behind the incident and that it was trying to spark tension and destabilise peace and harmony in state.
