Jane Fonda reveals she's given up sex and dating after turning 80: 'I've closed up shop'

JANE FONDA has spoken out about her love life at the age of 80, insisting she’s given up dating and “closed up shop” when it comes to sex.

The Barbarella actress made the revelation whilst promoting her new movie Book Club, which followers four older women who decide to spice up their lives after reading 50 Shades of Grey.

Addressing her own love life, she told Extra: “I’m not dating any more, but I did up until a couple of years ago.

“I’m 80, I’ve closed up shop down there!” she added.

Jane continued: “Nobody has to keep on being sexual later in life.

“It should be up to us to make the decision.”

The Grace and Frankie star previously opened up about her foray into the world of sex toys amid a cheeky storyline in the Netflix series.

“We tried all different kinds of vibrators,” she told Ellen DeGeneres. “Use it or lose it, right?

“I have one that hangs around my neck and looks like a beautiful piece of silver jewellery,” she divulged.

The two-time Oscar winner stars alongside Diane Keaton, Candice Bergan, and Mary Steenburgen, in Book Club, which sees the four single seniors inspired by the racy trilogy of erotic novelist to inject some new excitement into their lives.

Last year, Jane split from music producer Richard Perry after eight years together.

They remained close 

Revealing how Jane intended to channel her energy into activism, he told E! News: “I hate to say the romantic relationship is over. We’re definitely extremely good friends. We do things together.

“We definitely have a great deal of love for each other.”

They had been rumoured to be planning to get married before confirming their separation.

Jane has previously been married three times.

The activist and actress tied the knot with French screenwriter and director Roger Vadim in 1965.

After divorcing her first husband, she wed politician Tom Hayden in 1973.

The couple were together for 12 years before they split.

She later married Ted Turner in 1991 and they later divorced after 10 years of marriage.

Book Club is released in UK cinemas June 1.
