Two CPI(M) workers hacked at Tirur

Two CPI(M) workers were hacked by an unidentified gang of masked men at Thevar Kadappuram, Paravanna, near Tirur, on Wednesday night.

The CPI(M) alleged that the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) was behind the attack.

Shoufir, 25, son of Latheef from Paravanna, and Afsar, 22, son of Haneefa from Paravanna, were rushed to district hospital at Tirur with hack injuries in their hands and legs.

They were later shifted to the Government Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode.

The attack took place at 9.20 p.m.
