Chandigarh(Narinder Jagga): The seven out of eight MLAs of Congress belong to OBC category have stayed away from the meeting organised by OBC (Other backward Class) cell of Congress in Punjab Congress Bhawan, today. National Chairman of the cell and MP Tamradhwaj and other office bearer across the Punjab were present in the meeting. The meeting was called to assess the sentiments and their future-role in the Party by the Party high command. All the speakers expressed their resentments over the issue of zero representation to the OBC MLAs in the expansion of Punjab Cabinet. Lone MLA Darshan Lal from Balachaur and former Minister Hans Raj Josan, who were present in the meeting, suggested that if the party wants Rahul Gandhi to be as Prime Minister then every community should be given representation in the party as well as in the Power, according to their percentage.There are eight MLAs, who belong to OBC category, who are believed to be annoyed for not giving representation in Power. Out of eight, seven MLAs Hardial Singh Kamboj from Rajpura, Rajinder Singh of Samana, Madal Lal Thekedar of Ghanour, Surjit Dhiman of Amargarh, Sangat Singh Giljia of Urmar, Rajneesh Kumar Babbi of Mukeria and Harjot Komal Singh from Moga were not present in the meeting. President of Punjab unit of OBC cell, Gurinderpal Singh Bill told that he had informed each and every MLA of OBC and office bearer by phone and massages. Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, Minister for SC/BC Welfare was the Chief Guest of this meeting, who also commented on the absence of seven OBC MLAs in the meeting. Block, District Presidents and officer bearers across the State were present in the meeting. MP Sahu, Minister Dharamsot, Billa and former Minister Hans Raj Josan, MLA Darshan Lal, KK Bawa and Jaspal Kaur Matharu were among those, who expressed their views. Leader demanded that there should be a Column for OBC in the form of Census of India, so that the Political parties could able to know the actual percentage of OBC.
