PMK calls new Tamil film obscene, seeks ban

PMK founder S. Ramadoss on Tuesday sought a ban on the newly-released Tamil film Iruttu Araiyil Muratu Kuthu, saying that it was full of obscenities and would contribute to cultural degradation. In a statement, he said, “The producers of the film were actually encouraged by the success of their earlier film. If this film also becomes a hit, they will follow the similar formula and others will also follow suit,” said Dr. Ramadoss.

“Cinema is a beautiful and powerful art form. How could the Censor Board clear this picture?” he said and urged the State government to ban the film.

Earlier LGBT activists headed by Apsara Reddy condemned the film for it’s insensitive and crude humour targetting the community.
