KANPUR: BJP legislator Kuldeep Singh Sengar from Bangarmau, who is an accused in the Unnao gang rape case, was shifted from Unnao to Sitapur jail on Tuesday.
An Unnao district official said Shashi Singh, who is a co-accused in the case that took place in Bangarmau in 2017, and allegedly took the rape survivor to Sengar, has also been shifted to Sitapur jail. A team of the CBI, which is probing the case, took the accused to Sitapur jail. However, the MLA's younger brother Atul Singh and four other co-accused are still lodged in Unnao jail. They were arrested for allegedly beating the rape survivor's father on April 2.

He had later succumbed to his injuries in judicial custody on April 9.
