I just terminated my DA vote

09 May 2018, 13:14

As a so-called coloured voter who has been supporting the DA in previous elections, I have decide it is time to vote the DA out in Cape Town. The City does not work for me anymore.

The DA has finally exposed their arrogant and corrupt ways in the following glaring manners:

1) Mismanagement of the water crisis:

The city has proven that it does not care about the poor and only look after the interests of the rich. People using the least amount of water are being punished with the most exorbitant tariff increases. The tariff decreases the more water you use. How insane is that? The rich just continue to waste and exploit the limited water supply and the poor are being punished to ensure day zero does not arrive. Try and sell that joke somewhere else. Coloured people are not stupid.

2) Vendetta against Delille:

The undemocratic and corrupt manner in which Aunty Pat has been ejected from the DA is even more mind boggling. One can only assume that DA funders are unhappy with certain decisions or obstacles posed by Delille and now want to get rid of her at all costs. The whole process exposes how undemocratic the Democratic Alliance is.

Did the DA not learn from what happened when Ebrahim Rasool was ejected from being premier of the Western Cape in the same manner as Patricia Delille is now being removed from the DA? Immediately after this the ANC lost the Western Cape to the DA thanks to Aunty Pat.  Cyrill Ramaphosa has done a masterclass manoeuvre by bringing Ebrahim Rasool back to the Western Cape. And now the DA did the dumbest move ever by ejecting Aunty Pat. Guess what DA, you just lost this coloured vote.

Don’t take for granted the coloured vote you have been enjoying the last few years. You will lose the Western Cape in the following election.
