Jumbos crush three to death in D’nal, N’pada

Elephant attack claimed the lives of three persons in Nuapada and Dhenkanal districts on Tuesday.

According to reports, two persons were crushed to death by a herd of elephants at a riverbank near the Sanakhandanala Ashram in the  Kamakhyanagar area of Dhenkanal district in morning.

Around forty wild elephants had reportedly been spotted near the ashram on Monday night.

In the other incident, a farmer was trampled to death by six to seven elephants at Karangabhatta village in the Komna area of Nuapada district in morning while he had gone to his farmland.

The deceased was identified as Sahadev Parabhuey.
