Mumbai Indians made 210/6 after being asked to bat first by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during their Indian Premier League (IPL) clash at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Wednesday, with Ishan Kishan hitting a 21-ball 62 that had five fours and six sixes. (KKR v MI UPDATES)

The 19-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman reached his 50 from 17 balls in some style, hitting three towering sixes off Kuldeep Yadav. He was dealing in boundaries and over-boundaries at Eden Gardens on Wednesday and it was the second-fastest 50 of IPL 2018. Kishan took 24 runs in that Yadav over in which the chinaman bowler went for 25 runs. (KKR v MI SCORECARD)

Making good use of the crease, Kishan was brutal on the KKR bowling. He reverse-swept Piyush Chawla for a boundary and in that over hit two more fours, one a conventional sweep and another a short-arm pull. By the time he went, holing out to Sunil Narine in the deep with Robin Uthappa completing the catch, he and Rohit Sharma had added 82 for the third wicket in 34 balls.

After restricting MI to 72/2 in 10 overs, MI added 73 in the next five with Kishan going great guns. It helped set the platform for a final blitz from MI as KKR’s bowling disintegrated.
