Man charged with murder after methadone clinic attack
A man has been charged with murder after turning himself in to police after a fatal stabbing outside a Wollongong methadone clinic last week.
The victim, a 39-year-old man from Bulli, was visiting the clinic on Denison Street in the city centre early on Friday morning when a fight is believed to have broken out.
He was stabbed in the chest and taken to Wollongong Hospital but died a short time later.
Police circulated a photograph of a suspect on Friday as they launched a manhunt and issued an arrest warrant.
The 52-year-old man attended Wollongong police station on Tuesday afternoon where he was arrested.
He was refused bail and is due to appear in Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday.
