2020 Kia Telluride Spied Looking Nearly Production Ready
The 2020 Kia Telluride SUV, which is expected to debut sometime this year, has been photographed underdoing tests in the United States.
Kia told AutoGuide in an interview earlier this year that it would have an announcement in regards to the production Telluride soon. We’re expecting an official announcement in the late summer or early fall, but for now, these spy photos give us a good idea of what to expect.
As you can see, the production Telluride will draw on the boxy shape of the concept vehicle shown a couple of years back. These photos also reveal it will have Kia’s venerable Tiger Nose grille, along with squarish headlights and rectangular taillights. Another interesting design feature is the chrome notch running along the beltline, which is joined by another notch running along the top of the windshield. These are two design features seen on the concept that appear to have made it to the production vehicle, so good job on staying true to the design study, Kia.
Details on the Telluride’s powertrain and platform have yet to be announced, but were expecting it to share a platform with the new Hyundai Santa Fe and feature the same lineup of naturally aspirated and turbocharged four-cylinder engines.
More details on the 2020 Kia Telluride are expected to come to light shortly.
