Commonwealth Attorney Erik Laub said Davis “appeared to be intoxicated” when the alleged offenses took place and didn’t have any recollection

of them. Given the serious nature of the charges, Laub said the commonwealth opposed releasing Davis on bond.

The alleged offenses took place in November 2017, court records show.

Davis’ attorney, Tom Berry, said during the hearing his client is employed, has no previous criminal record except for a driving under the influence charge and turned himself in to authorities after arrest warrants were issued following the grand jury’s indictments. Berry requested bond to be set at about $10,000.

Judge Michael Garrett granted the secured bond request and ordered Davis to have no contact with the juvenile in the case while awaiting trial.

A trial date is expected to be set May 22, online court records show.
